Macedonians to wake up with freezing temperatures

Due to cold front across the country, Macedonia will wake up on Friday and this weekend seeing temperatures beloe zero degrees.

Morning temperatures will drop to -3 to 5, reaching up to 10 degrees during the day.

Sar Mountain has already seen its first snow which usually is a precursor for longer, colder winter.

Rainfalls expected on Wednesday

Rainfalls will gain in intensity this afternoon and turn into heavy showers on Wednesday, accompanied by thunderstorms and 60km/h-wind, Skopje's Weather Office reported earlier today.

Moderately cloudy weather with local rain is expected to prevail in the next few days.

Heavy rainfalls and thunderstorms today

Mostly cloudy with rainfalls and thunders and strong north winds in the afternoon. Heavy rainfalls are expected in eastern regions.

The temperatures will range from 18C to 27C.

Similar weather in Skopje with temperatures up to 24C.

Occasional snowfalls and frost across Macedonia

Mainly cloudy and cold weather will prevail on Saturday in Macedonia with occasional snowfalls especially in the morning. Frost is possible due to below zero temperatures. Moderate north wind will blow.

Temperatures are forecast to vary between -8C and 2C.

Similar weather is expected in Skopje with temperatures as low as zero degrees.

Turbulent weather in Ohrid and Prespa region

Ohrid and Prespa region saw turbulent weather this evening. More than 40 liters of rain per sq. meters were measured in Ohrid

The rain was accompanied by 90km/h winds who knocked down trees and electric poles.

The Resen region avoided the brunt of the storm because of their timely firing of five anti-hail rockets who dispersed the clouds.
